Southwest Airlines operates a focused Atlanta operation from Concourse C, with gates clustered between C30 and C42. Daily departures total roughly 200 flights to 30+ destinations across the United States, with concentrations to Texas (Houston, Dallas), Florida (Tampa, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale), and the broader East Coast (Baltimore, New York-LaGuardia).

Check-in is at the Domestic Terminal South lobby. Southwest's open-seating policy means boarding position is determined by check-in time (24 hours in advance via the Southwest app is standard). The A-1 through A-15 group boards first; later groups follow in sequence.

Southwest does not have a dedicated lounge at ATL. Premium-credit-card holders can use The Club ATL on Concourse F (Priority Pass), about a 12-minute walk via the central spine corridor and a Plane Train ride.

Bag policy at Southwest is famously generous: two checked bags free with every fare. Carry-on rules follow the standard 22"x14"x9" dimension limit. Boarding starts approximately 30 minutes before scheduled departure.

If you're connecting from Southwest to another airline, allow at least 60 minutes including the Plane Train ride from C to T or other concourses. Southwest's quick-turn operations sometimes leave gates with minimal slack for late-arriving passengers.
