Can I use cash at ATL?
Yes, but most retailers and restaurants prefer cards. Some locations are now card-only.
Most retailers and restaurants at Hartsfield-Jackson accept both cash and credit/debit cards, but a growing number of locations are transitioning to card-only operations. Mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay) is widely accepted.
Card-only locations include several Starbucks counters, the InMotion Entertainment store, and select airline gate-area kiosks. If you're traveling with cash only, ask before ordering or selecting items.
ATM machines are available throughout both terminals and most concourses, operated by Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Allpoint network banks. Out-of-network fees can be significant ($3–8 per withdrawal depending on your bank).
Currency exchange is available at the International Terminal and at select kiosks throughout the airport. Rates are airport-standard (which is to say significantly worse than bank rates); exchange the minimum amount needed for immediate use and exchange the rest at your destination bank.
