All major rental car companies operate from the consolidated ATL Rental Car Center, located approximately 1 mile from the Domestic Terminal. Free SkyTrain service connects the Rental Car Center to the Domestic Terminal every 5 minutes during operating hours.

To reach the Rental Car Center from baggage claim, follow signs to 'Rental Cars / SkyTrain.' The SkyTrain station is on the lower level of the Domestic Terminal. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes including station dwell times.

Major rental brands at the Rental Car Center: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Sixt, Thrifty. Each has dedicated counters; loyalty-program members can typically skip the counter and proceed directly to the vehicle for member-only programs (Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, National Emerald Aisle, Avis Preferred, etc.).

Returning a rental car is the reverse process. Follow signs to 'Rental Car Return' from any approach to the airport. After returning your vehicle, take the SkyTrain back to the Domestic Terminal — the same 10-minute ride.

Pricing varies dramatically by season, advance booking time, and vehicle class. Economy/compact cars start around $40/day; mid-size $55–75/day; SUVs $80–120/day; luxury $120–250/day. Insurance, taxes, and fees can add $20–40/day to the base rate.
