Hartsfield-Jackson maintains a regulated taxi stand at both the Domestic and International Terminals. The taxi stand at the Domestic Terminal is on the lower level outside baggage claim, immediately past the doors. The International Terminal taxi stand is similarly located on the lower level outside baggage claim.

Pricing is regulated. A flat rate of $30 applies to downtown Atlanta destinations (defined as the area bounded by I-75/I-85 west, I-20 south, Boulevard east, and 17th Street north). Outside of this area, fares are metered at $2.50/mile plus a $2.50 flag drop and a $1 airport surcharge.

All ATL taxis accept credit cards (chip and magstripe) and cash. Receipts are provided on request. A 15–20% tip is customary for satisfactory service.

Travel times depend heavily on traffic. Downtown Atlanta is typically 20–30 minutes outside of rush hour and 30–60 minutes during rush hour. To Buckhead, expect 30–45 minutes; to Sandy Springs, 45–60 minutes; to the northern suburbs (Marietta, Alpharetta), 45–75 minutes.

Taxis are typically slightly more expensive than UberX/Lyft Standard for non-flat-rate destinations and roughly equivalent for flat-rate downtown trips. They're often a better choice during heavy surge pricing on rideshare platforms.
